Facilities finally wanted the old badges back, so this one was sitting on my desk.

Martin saw it and said, “Oh. I remember him.”

He used to work here. He disappeared a few years ago.

His father came by for a while afterward asking if anyone had heard from him. Suit. Hat. Briefcase.

I showed Martin the coffee shop photo of The Formal Man.

“Yeah,” he said. “That’s his dad.”
