The Second Sky (part 5)

Leah questions the story as Sela brings Rovan home for supper, where an older woman immediately notices their courtship.

Sela repairs a curing shed while a coastal friend teases her; Rovan learns she has been reorganizing things since childhood.

Rovan spots a hidden snow hollow and marks a safe route while Sela turns his warning into a path others can use.

Sela asks about Rovan’s inland home. He invites her to visit, then admits he must leave soon if the weather holds.

Sela and Rovan prepare for his departure with food, packing, a repaired boot strap, teasing, and quiet plans to meet again.

At first light, Sela walks Rovan to the last coastal marker, they share a tender handclasp, and he leaves inland.
