The Second Sky (part 6)

Rovan returns to the snowy upper yard, greeted by Nara and Pell, then shares road food indoors as his homecoming settles into ordinary life.

Rovan and Marek inspect damaged route gear and a missed valley sled; Nara pushes back on his workload before Pell brings news of the herd.

Rovan, Nara, Marek, Pell, and Kessa guide livestock around an iced ravine crossing, bringing the herd in early and starting fodder sooner.

Hale arrives late with the valley sled after a difficult detour; over food and repairs, Rovan asks whether anything came through from the coast.

Wind shifts north as Rovan prepares to test the high line; over supper, Pell and Nara tease out his thoughts of Sela before he watches the ridge.

Rovan and Marek test the frozen high line, find it crossable but not safe enough for Sela, and return to the upper yard with the answer: not yet.
